Madrid is closing sections of the M-45 motorway and several streets in Villaverde to manage traffic around Shakira's 12 concerts in the city, EL PAÍS reports.
The road measures accompany a run of shows that other Spanish outlets describe as unusually large for the capital. Vanitatis reports the series is expected to draw 600,000 people, while El Mundo frames it as a marathon of 12 performances. The venue has been referred to as the "Estadio Shakira," and Cadena SER has published guidance on reaching it by bus, Metro and train.
Shakira arrived in Madrid ahead of the shows. Diario AS described a striking welcome for her at Madrid's airport, and El Mundo reported remarks in which she said she spent the most important years of her life in the city, as well as difficult moments there.

With that many attendees spread across multiple nights, the transport plan is central to how the run unfolds. Road closures on the M-45 and in Villaverde are the most visible part of it, and public transport is being positioned as the main alternative for concertgoers.
What to watch next: whether the closures are adjusted night by night, and how the bus, Metro and train services handle the crowds across the full 12-date schedule.
